Q: Who are you?
👉 Just start here.
Q: How and where can I talk with you?
- During livestream on Youtube.
- On the ŚwiatChmury.pl Slack under the nick @wojciech.gawronski.
- Private message on Twitter: @afronski.
- Old school email.
Q: When will there be next livestream?
Every two weeks on Thursday at 07:00 PM CEST/CET.
Q: What language?
For now only English.
If you’d like to see such sessions in Polish, please let me know via email.
Q: Is that free?
Yup - 100% free knowledge sharing, and donations are disabled.
Q: Is this a replacement for an online course or onsite training?
Not at all. It’s just another way of knowledge sharing, with emphasis on community, knowledge sharing, and practical exercises.
Q: Will those streams be sufficient for passing the exam?
Not at all. Deliberate practice (on your own, or during livestreams) and other services (e.g., online courses, whitepapers, AWS-related videos) are also recommended.
Q: So it is a strictly theoretical lecture?
Not at all. I want to focus on the practical side of those elements, as other services will deliver the necessary theoretical knowledge. Of course, during livestreams, we will do a recap and cover some theoretical aspects, but the whole plan has a razor-sharp focus on practice.
Q: So it is a one-way presentation of theory?
Not at all. That’s why I have chosen live stream: to have a proper interaction with you, the audience, through the chat, polls, other media and means of communication.
Q: Should I be quiet, or can I be chatty/verbose/asking questions?
Of course, you should! That’s one of the reasons why I am doing it - I want to share my knowledge with you and learn new stuff as well. My goal is to build an online community here, so I am here to listen - not only broadcast.
Q: Streaming topic?
For now, there is only one central theme: Amazon Web Services.
However, I have more plans regarding this channel - so stay tuned!
Q: Will you cover AWS exam/service called XYZ?
I have covered the Associate line of exams (in Polish 🇵🇱), so most of the stuff is shared between all levels. I have also covered services from the AWS Messaging portfolio (in English 🇬🇧).
Also, if you have a specific question or request (e.g., cover a service XYZ), try to ask about it during livestream or reach me out.
Of course, they are, you can find them on Youtube channel.
Q: How expensive are the AWS exams?
- AWS Cloud Practitioner: 100 USD.
- Associate Level: 150 USD.
- Professional and Specialty Levels: 300 USD.
- Practice Exams: 20 USD.
For each passed certificate (no matter the level), you will get a voucher for 50% off from the price of your next exam. Additionally, you will get a coupon for a free practice exam.
In case of recertification, you also have 50% off for the same exam or a higher-level one. Example: if you are recertifying in AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, you can either pass the same level or approach AWS again Certified Solutions Architect - Professional as it prolongs the Associate level certificate too.
Q: Is there a way to attend an online-based exam for the AWS certification process?
Yup, it’s a new option - you can schedule it with the use of the official certification portal via Person VUE online proctored exam option.
Please keep in mind that if you are applying for additional exam accommodation (e.g., extra 30 minutes in case you are non-native English speaker), it needs to be verified by a phone call. Also, during the exam, you cannot be interrupted or take a biobreak, examination software requires Windows or macOS, camera, and microphone, and you need to have a clean desk - with the ability to prove this to the exam supervisor.
Q: Operating System?
Q: Streaming software?
Yongnuo YN-360 RGB with a diffusor.
